Fire station tour

Today there was a fire station history tour in ATL. The "Intown Cyclists" hosted this ride, led by Byron Rushing, state bike/ped coordinator. We got rained on for awhile, but it was a smoking tour. At three stations the crew came out and talked about their jobs, history of the station, and various tidbits. Like - they have never found a cat skeleton in a tree. We went by there huge historic fire spots. One in the 4th ward wiped out 2000 homes. The Winecoff hotel fire is still the deadliest hotel fire in history. We finished the tour at FS #11, converted to a gastro-pub. Then we stopped at the 420 festival in Candler Park. An excellent day - bybicycles!
